In the Strength of the Lord

Stake Presidency
Quote graphic over an army carrying banners that read "In the Strength of the Lord" and "Liberty": "The Book of Mormon is full of conflict. At least 15 major battles are noted. Up to 73% of chapters mention war, political unrest, and conflict. Does that echo our modern life?"
Graphic asking "How did the Nephites fight their battles in the strength of the Lord?" — They made and kept their covenants; they prayed for help; they followed their leaders; they believed God would deliver them even against the worst odds; and they fought together. Alma 19:4, Alma 60:16, Alma 61:13.
Graphic: "Those who chose not to keep their covenants…" lost the protection of the Savior and were left to their own abilities. The withdrawal of the Spirit may feel like punishment when in reality the Lord cannot save us in our sins. Helaman 4:13, Alma 11:37.
Quote graphic: "We cannot always choose which battles we must fight, but we can choose how we fight them." As we keep our covenants we gain greater access to the Savior's mercy, protection, strength, and power (General Handbook 26.4.2). "How will you choose to face the battles of your life?" — President Haymore, Stake Conference Talk.
